Honoring Peace Through Art and Craft
As part of our ongoing commitment to Peace Education in Japanese, senior students recently took part in a special art and craft project commemorating the anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing.
This reflective and creative initiative allowed our students to explore the themes of peace, empathy, and global citizenship in a meaningful and hands-on way.
For their first project, students created beautiful paper cranes and were placed inside the jute string balls. For their second project, they learnt about the art of Japanese calligraphy and they attempted to write ‘Peace’ in Japanese using a calligraphy brush.
These projects not only deepened students' understanding of history, but also empowered them to become thoughtful, compassionate, and active participants in promoting peace—locally and globally.
