VCE Trial Exams and Preparation

As we progress toward the conclusion of Term 3, attention has turned to preparation for the VCE Unit 3 & 4 final examinations, scheduled to commence in early Term 4. To support this, practice examinations will take place in Week 9 (final week of Term 3). 

These assessments are conducted under official VCAA exam conditions and serve multiple purposes:

• Familiarising students with exam protocols
• Enhancing time management and pacing
• Providing targeted feedback to guide final preparation
• Building student confidence and reducing exam anxiety

Attendance is mandatory for all students enrolled in Unit 3 & 4 studies. These sessions form an essential part of the school’s academic support framework and are critical to ensuring students are well-prepared for final assessments.

Exploring Innovation at Gippsland Tech School

Over the past few weeks, three of our student groups had the exciting opportunity to visit Gippsland Tech School, engaging in hands-on, future-focused learning experiences that inspired creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.

One group tackled the LEGO Sumo Challenge, where students designed, built, and coded autonomous robots to compete in a sumo-style battle. The activity encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and a solid introduction to robotics and engineering principles.

Another group participated in the Sustainable Future Housing program, exploring innovative solutions to modern housing challenges. Students worked in teams to design environmentally friendly and energy-efficient homes, gaining insights into sustainable design and construction.

The third group took part in Growing Into the Future, a program focused on the future of food production and agriculture. Through interactive sessions, students explored cutting-edge farming technologies and the importance of sustainability in feeding future generations.

These excursions provided a valuable extension to classroom learning and gave students a taste of the exciting careers and technologies shaping our future.
