Father’s Day

The Father’s Day Stall on Friday 5th September was a great success. A huge thank you to all our wonderful helpers on the day, special thanks, to Michelle for all her planning and purchasing for this special event and to Julie and Annette for their wrapping of the gifts.

Working Bee

We had a great roll up to the working bee on Sunday. It is always satisfying on the Monday morning to see the school grounds looking so neat and tidy. The addition of the new softfall under the play equipment makes such a difference. The outdoor area connected to the Art room looks amazing and is ready now for some painting sessions in Term 4. A huge thank you to all the wonderful families who were able to attend. Special thanks, to Jeff, Andrew and Eric for their amazing work.

District Athletics

On Friday we had a number of students representing SSPS at the District Athletics meet at the Bill Stewart Athletics track in East Burwood. All the students did an amazing job with most achieving their personal best.

Syndal South achieved third place in the overall competition.

There will be a team of 20 students heading off to the next stage of the competition which is the Divisional Athletics meet on the 8th of October. A huge thankyou to all the parents and grandparents who came and cheered the team on, in particular Chulaka who helped on the day even though Dinu was not able to attend. Go Syndal!

E-Waste Collection

Our two enthusiastic Computer Captains Ashtin and Taviru have initiated the E-Waste Collection Project at school. We are asking families to please support this initiative by bringing your e-waste to school. What we are collecting old mobile phones, cd's batteries, electrical cords to name a few.  Students will receive House Points for their effort.

Foundations

Our wonderful Foundation students set off Tuesday morning on their first major excursion.

They lined up carrying their backpacks with loads of enthusiastic energy, their destination the Royal Botanical Gardens. From all accounts they had a fantastic experience.
