Physical Education

Hi Families,
Wow a full on PE and Sport term is coming to an end!
Sport wise we have had something on almost every week - Division and Regional Netball days, Division AFL, District basketball day for 4 and 5&6 and our Athletics trials for 4-6 students which ended with our District Athletics on Thursday. We are all ready for a break :)
In PE we have across the year levels learnt some floor gymnastics, aerobics, bowls, golf, produced our own games and many fitness sessions which has ended in creating our own with many sessions in between.
Dates for the calendar:
Term 4:
Friday 10th October - Division Basketball (1 x girls and 1 x boys team)
Monday 20th October - Division Hot Shots (1 x boys team)
Thursday 23rd October - Division Volleyball (1 x girls team)
Friday 31st October - Division Cricket (1 x mixed team)
Thursday 6th November - Twilight Sports 4-7pm
District Athletics
On Thursday we had 73 students attend the athletics event and participate in a number of sprint events - 100m, 200m and 80m hurdles, distance 800m and 1500m along with field events - shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump and high jump.
It was a long day but the students did very well supporting their fellow classmates. Of those 73, an impressive number of 32 students (see list below) have progressed through to the Division Athletics, held at Tom Kelly Athletics Track, Doncaster on Tuesday 14th October. An operoo will be sent out with details before the end of the week.
Every student should be incredibly proud of their achievements on Thursday. Here are what some of the students had to say about the day.
On Thursday many Year Fours, Fives and Sixes went to Doncaster to compete against many other schools in District Athletics. The students were in many events such as, 100 metres, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump and much more. It was tough competition against other schools but we managed to have many people get through and the outcome was great. All the students showed great sportsmanship and did very well. - Angelina yr 6
On Thursday, some people in grade 4-6 competed against other schools in District Athletics, it was held at the Doncaster athletics course and the kids competed in many events such as 100metres, High jump, triple jump, Discus, long jump and much more. Fixtures and additional information on operoo permission forms
It has been brought to our attention that when I add additional information on operoo, like fixtures, after I have sent the operoo out (as usually these are not ready at the time I am sending permissions forms to you), that you are not seeing this information at your end.
I have contacted Operoo (and a parent had already realised this, thank you Belinda) that
to see the updated information you will need to go to CHANGE RESPONSE and resubmit your response in the eform. Once you have done that, all changes I have made will appear as you will have the most updated version of the form.
I always add fixtures and information as it comes to me in your permission forms and will try and send out a message if I have added new information. However, if time gets away from me, which it usually does, if you do this, I highly recommend you do this on the event day or a couple of days prior, then you should see the information you are looking for. If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Basketball Tops
Please, if you haven't already, have your students return their washed basketball tops to the PE office this week to ensure we have full sets for next year.
Have a fabulous and safe term 3 break and we will see you ready for some warmer PE and sport days in term 4.
Stay safe, keep active
