Day 2 of 6 at Yarra Ranges Tech School
March 7th saw nine deadly students take on the second day out of six at Yarra Ranges Tech School. Students were able to use their Laser Cutter and express their creativity on Illustrator and Cricut. Students had the ability to start project planning (this is the whole purpose of the six days at Yarra Ranges Tech school, enabling students to create a project of their choice). Unfortunately, our third day was on March 26th, and we were unable to attend due to Harmony Day and Cross Country. Our next day is May 2nd and students start creating their chosen projects.
Flagpoles!
We have brand new flagpoles outside of Reception. Flying the Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags demonstrates Australia’s recognition of First Nation peoples, promoting a sense of community partnership and a commitment toward reconciliation.
DeadlyScience Formula 1 Grand Prix Program
DeadlyScience invited schools in the Education Plan to attend a two day program at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix at Albert Park on Thursday March 21st and Friday March 22nd. DeadlyScience is an organisation based off donations that provides Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths resources to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander learners in Australia. Outlined below is the schedule we undertook during the program:
Thursday 21st March:
Friday 22nd March:
Students had a deadly time and were exposed to many new experiences. We are very grateful to DeadlyScience for allowing us to attend this two day program. We hope we can attend again next year.
