Students involved in the Term 1 Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) completed their time in the course by participating in the English Masterclass session at Yarra Ranges Tech School. The focus of the 10 week program has been on exploring dystopian narratives and analysing various texts such as novels, short stories and films. Students built on the ideas they’ve explored in the unit by collaborating with peers from other schools to create storyboards. These storyboards were then turned into short video clips. Students had access to green screens, iPads, Procreate and iMovie to create their videos. Students approached the task with diligence and cooperation and their final clips were very impressive.
The Victorian High Ability Program provides high ability students from Victorian government schools in Years 5 to 8 the opportunity to participate in a 10 week virtual enrichment program.
