Athletics Carnival

Our SMDP Athletics Carnival was held on Monday the 18th of March and was a day to remember for our school community down at Newport Athletics track. 

Junior students experienced a day full of fun activities such as the chicken throw, the always challenging egg and spoon race, the 100-meter dash and lots more. Whilst our senior students participated in more formal athletic events such as hurdles, shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump and the high jump. 

As students participated in each event they earned points for their house colours. Each house colour was well represented and well done to Yellow House who won the day with the most points closely followed by Red. 

All of our students participated with great enthusiasm and an outstanding attitude towards the day, which made our teachers extremely proud. We thank all of those who contributed in planning and running the day.

A big thank you to our volunteers, your assistance was greatly appreciated. Good luck to all our house colours for next year's carnival in 2025.
