Message from Our Principal
Thank you to students, Team Tally and our wonderful school community for a fabulous start to the year. Term 1 saw classrooms quickly settle into positive learning environments in which children are striving to reach their potential and try their best.
We particularly enjoyed the involvement of parents and caregivers this term during events including: Tally Together Day 1 Welcome, Meet the Teacher, progress interviews, Active School Travel, P&C meetings and our Tally Way CommUNITY Day. The friendly day-to-day presence of parents and carers when they drop off and collect their children is a constant highlight and something we are very grateful for. It is no coincidence that our students are so very lovely when they are part of such a caring community.
On behalf of Team Tally, I would also like to thank parents and caregivers for their support and partnership this term. We wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy holiday!
We look forward to welcoming our students to Term 2 on Monday, 15 April. As is our tradition, we will welcome students back in the area near Drop and Go from 8:30am (school supervision commences at 8:55am).
Tally Way CommUNITY Day
Our first Tally Way CommUNITY Day was very successful even though the wet weather necessitated a modified program. Tally Way CommUNITY Day is an event that signifies our united commitment towards wellbeing, kindness and antibullying.
It was an action-packed and fun-filled day! We were very pleased to welcome parents and caregivers to do wellbeing related activities with their children and attend a wellbeing workshop facilitated by a guest presenter, Petris Lapis. Thank you to our P&C for their generous support of the wellbeing workshop for parents and caregivers.
At the beginning of the day, students were surprised with special guests and heard them share their insights into wellbeing. Our special guests included:
- Joshua Bannan and Gabe Hadley from the Brisbane Bullets basketball team with Joseph Huber
- Kendell Heremaia from the North Gold Coast Seahawks basketball team
- Tallebudgera Valley and Currumbin Valley Rural Fire Brigade members
Vice Captains Lexi and Nina did an outstanding job interviewing our basketball player guests.
Throughout the day children enjoyed Morning Moves (a school exercise tradition) with Mighty Marais and Boy Baker, Years 4 - 6 saw a basketball trick competition between our guest basketball players and staff members, activities in classrooms, a disco and received a Tally Way CommUNITY Day wristband as a gift (thanks to YMCA).
P&C Executive Team

Prosperity Partners
We are incredibly grateful to our P&C Prosperity Partners for their support and generous contributions. Prosperity Partner donations allow our P&C to deliver enhanced activities and projects, beyond what they could do if relying only on fundraising from school activities.
We would like to thank this year's sponsors who have joined the P&C Prosperity Partners program:
Gold Sponsor: PRD Burleigh (John Fischer and Shelley Watkins)
Silver Sponsor: Nurse Next Door (Lauren Macdonald and Glen Parsons), Cricks Tweed (Ryan and Jodi Harding).
Prep Hat Parade
Today, we held our Prep Hat Parade as an opportunity for children to show their parents/caregivers the hats they made.
Congratulations Tobin
Congratulations to Tobin for winning the house rewards activity this term by earning the most Tiger Paws. Tiger Paws are tickets that are awarded to students in recognition for positive behaviour. The houses were very close this term, so it looks like any house could win next term.
Wonderful Tallebudgera community, please keep a caring eye on our school.
Empty schools can become targets for unlawful entry, arson, stealing, graffiti and property damage, especially during school holiday periods. If you see anything of concern, please report it to school watch. If there is an emergency, please call 000.
Thank you for helping!
