Wellbeing Leader: Mrs Jessica Carmichael

2024

Breakfast Club

Thank you to our senior students who have volunteered to come in early and help Lorraine prepare breakfast for their peers - what wonderful leaders you are becoming.

Have you seen our Term 1 menu for Thursday mornings?

Blitz

Our BLITZ focus will be to TURN ON OUR RESPECT RADAR - particularly in our interactions with all, in all spaces.

We need to pay particular notice to how we are showing people respect with our words and actions on a daily basis;

how do we choose to interact with others? Do I argue? Am I forceful in my words? Do I storm off or swear? Do I yell? Do I mutter under my breath as I leave?

how does my body behave? Do I move closer? Do I throw my hands around in the air? Do I roll my eyes? Do I turn my back when being spoken to? Do I cross my arms?

Graduate Outcome

The focus for all learning spaces will be showing we are CONFIDENT.

When we believe in our own abilities and have a positive outlook on challenges we are showing that we can try to be confident and build confidence in ourselves

Helping others feel this way is important too - we can do that through encouraging words and actions.

HARMONY DAY

Orange has been the Harmony Week colour since the first event was held in 1999. Traditionally the colour orange relates to social communication, stimulating two-way conversations.

Students are invited to wear a splash of orange on Thursday 21st March in recognition of this day.

RIDE 2 SCHOOL

National Ride2School day is a great opportunity for students and our community to celebrate active travel; whether that be walking, riding, scooting or skating!

There will be TWO departure points for students;

  • Lion's Park (Mrs Schwab will meet students here from 8:30am)
  • Ampol corner (Mrs Carmichael will meet students here from 8:30am)

Students will travel together to school with a special escort!

Families are invited and encouraged to join in with their child(ren) for this event.

ATTENDANCE

PBIS

As part of our school wide Positive Behaviour Framework students collect GOTCHAS for showing their excellence in our areas of expectation; safe, respectful and responsible. This term Year 6 leaders were given the opportunity to make changes to the class reward incentive choices.  The Wellbeing team then worked closely with Mrs Carmichael to align the new reward options with GOTCHA amounts.  Well done Wellbeing Team ~

DOGS CONNECT

Sully has really enjoyed being back at school and the students have enjoyed having Sully in his space. He is spending more time in more classrooms this year with the aim to have him moving through all the classrooms during the week.

Sully spent some time watching the students learning and playing soccer during community connections.
