What we've been making at Make and Take Craft Club

At the end of last term, we had two fun activities for Make and Take Craft Club.

One of the activities was decorating calico pouches with textile markers. These pouches could be used as a pencil case, a toiletries pouch, or just to organise random things. Some students decorated a pouch for themselves and others decorated one to give away as a lovely handmade present.

The other craft activity was making woven paper baskets to celebrate Easter. The students came up with some creative colour combinations for their baskets.

Knitting Circle recommences Term 2 – Tuesday lunchtime in the Library

Knitting has been described as meditative, a creative expression, a gift to express love, a way to connect and much, much more. It is also very addictive!

The John Cain Library Knitting Circle will recommence in the library on Tuesday lunchtimes.  Come and learn how to cast on, knit plain and purl stitches, increase, decrease and cast off.

Knitters will have the option to create a neck warmer which is a great beginner’s project or a Knits for Nature Penguin Rehabilitation Jumper which requires a little more skill.

Please bring a pair of size 6.5 mm (old size 3) knitting needles for the neck warmer or a pair of size 3.75 mm (old size 9) for the penguin jumper.

Many op shops have a plethora of needles or you can buy them new at craft stores.  Wool and patterns will be provided.

If you are an experienced knitter, please feel free to bring your own project.

All welcome!
