Year 7 Tennis

Congratulations to our Year 7 Tennis teams who competed in the Division Tournament at Oak Park Tennis Club on 25 March.

Our Boys team had a great day defeating all teams to finish on top of their pool.  They continued their winning streak by defeating Thornbury in the Grand final. They now move through to the Regional which is to be played on May 3rd.

Our girls team had a fantastic day out learning new skills and showed fantastic team work supporting each other all day.

Year 7 Volleyball 

Our Year 7 Volleyball teams played their Divisonal competition at Darebin Community Sport Stadium on 26 March.  We entered four teams who all played some very competitive matches and all won 2 games each.  A big thank you to our Student Coaches for helping with the team selections and coaching and scoring on the day.

Regional Swimming

On 27 March our swim team travelled to Watermarc to compete in the Regionals.  With a team of 25 swimmers, we came home with several medals and some personal bests. Josh Martin came home in first place in the 50m Freestyle which then qualified him to swim in the State Finals. Josh’s relay team also came first place. Team members for the relay were Josh Martin, Charlie Butteriss, Murray Grover and Josh Leutjens, and also qualified to swim at State Championships.

State Swimming

Last Thursday, we had five swimmers compete in the State Swimming Championships at MSAC. Josh Martin competed in the 50m Freestyle, and had a fantastic race. His main aim on the day was to achieve sub 30sec time, a PB that he has been working towards for a while. He finished his race in 6th place with his time being 29.66. He was very happy with this result. Our relay team came 5th, with the team members Murray Grover, Asher Floyd, Charlie Butteriss and Josh Martin. Josh Leutjens was in the originally in the team, but unfortunately was unwell and was unable to compete.  Josh did manage to come along to support his team. Thank you to Asher Floyd for stepping in to swim the Breaststroke leg of the relay.  These boys should be very proud of themselves.  What a fantastic achievement.
