Nature Therapy in Total Wellbeing

Immersion in Nature with Forest Therapy Victoria

The highlight of Term 1 in the Year 10 elective Total Wellbeing was a Nature Therapy Session with Forest Therapy Victoria. The Year 10s spent the session learning about the importance of having time away from screens and the long list of benefits of immersing one’s self in nature.

Kayte, the Forest Therapy Facilitator lead the students into the Merri Creek Bush lands behind NHS and instructed the students to explore their surroundings quietly and individually. The were encouraged to collect anything that caught their eye and that they found interesting or beautiful. They were then given 20 minutes to quietly create something out of their findings. The photos below are just some of the stunning nature art, that the students created.

The Year 10s had open minds throughout the session which was great to see! Many students asked if they could do more nature art throughout our Total Wellbeing sessions and reported how relaxing they found it.

Well done to all the students in Total Wellbeing!
