House Connect
How many goodies in the jar?
Last term we held our second House Connect where we saw the competitive nature of classes come out! This was all for an important prize - some treats for the winning class to share.
Each class began by guessing how many goodies were in the jar below, with the class closest to target winning the contents to share during their lessons this year. Classes then had to nominate a representative to sprint to the main building to submit their guess before trying to throw a table tennis ball into a cup for additional points. From here, they were given a kit of interesting materials to take back to class with the challenge of building the tallest tower possible!
We have some future designers and engineers on our hands!
The tallest two towers were over a meter! These were from Ms Martin class, Cooper 11 and Ms Maidment's class, Merri 19. Congratulations!!
This term students will work together on coming up with proposals of things they could run/implement to benefit the school in a 'shark tank' style project. There will be the potential for some of these ideas to become a reality with Innovate Grants of up to $1000. We can wait to see what our students come up with!
