Chinese Moon Festival and Diwali Celebrations
This week, our school came together to celebrate two special traditions – the Moon Festival and Diwali, the Festival of Lights. These cultural events, while unique in their customs and stories, both remind us of the importance of light, family, and gratitude.
At Wednesday’s open event, it was wonderful to see our community celebrating side by side. The moon above us is the same for everyone, no matter where we come from, and just like the diyas that light homes during Diwali, the light we share through kindness and understanding strengthens our community.
These celebrations are a reminder that while we all have different stories, we share common values like connection, joy and respect.
2026 planning
Planning for the 2026 school year is already underway, and enrolment plays a vital role in helping us prepare. Our first Kindergarten 2026 orientation session will take place in Week 4 of this term, and it is important that families enrol early so children can take part in all sessions and enjoy a smooth transition to school.
If you know that your child will not be attending Chatswood Public School in 2026, please let the school office know as soon as possible. Early notice supports our ability to plan for staffing, class structures and resourcing in the most accurate and efficient way. We appreciate your support in helping us prepare for another successful year.
