The Ellinomatheia is an esteemed certification recognizing proficiency in the Greek language. It celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding linguistic ability, dedication, and a deep appreciation for Greek culture.
Our students have shown exceptional commitment in mastering the complexities of the Greek language — from reading and writing to listening and speaking. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, passion, and perseverance.
At the awards ceremony held on 18th October at the Greek Community of Melbourne, our students were celebrated alongside other outstanding learners from across the region.

This remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration to all students, reminding us of the power of determination, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence.

Happy Ohi Day!!!
Happy Ohi Day to all who commemorate!
Ohi Day, celebrated annually on 28 October, marks the historic moment in 1940 when Greece said a resounding “No” (“Ohi” in Greek) to the ultimatum of the Axis forces—a powerful symbol of courage, resistance, and national unity.
As Winston Churchill memorably said:“You will not say that Greeks fight like heroes, but that heroes fight like Greeks.”His words continue to capture the bravery and spirit that Ohi Day celebrates.
To mark the occasion, our students served delicious Greek treats at the kiosk in the downstairs foyer during lunchtime, accompanied by lively Greek dancing. It was a joyful celebration of culture, history, and community spirit!
Ohi Day Celebration at Fronditha Age Care
On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, a group of our students proudly participated in the Ohi Day Celebration held at Fronditha Age Care in Clayton. The event featured a short parade by the residents, a wreath-laying ceremony, the singing of the Greek national anthem, and heartfelt poetry recitations by our students in honour of the heroes of 1940.
It was a meaningful, cultural and intergenerational experience, providing our students with a wonderful opportunity to connect with Greek elders, share their language, and celebrate together this significant day in Greek history.
