THE VILLAGE

The Village: Supporting Student Wellbeing Together

Welcome Back to Term 4 – Keeping Our Village Connected

As we begin Term 4, The Village continues to keep our school community connected and informed about the great things happening across the school. From celebrating student achievements to sharing wellbeing initiatives, this space is all about shining a light on the people, programs, and events that make our school such a strong and supportive community.

Our Behaviour Matrix

Behind the scenes, our students have been helping shape our new School Values and Behaviour Matrix, which we’ll be sharing with the community very soon. Centred around We Are Respectful, We Are Resilient, We Are Kind, and We Try Our Best, these values capture what we stand for as a school — guiding how we learn, interact, and support one another each day.

It’s been great to see students contributing their ideas and creativity to this process, and we can’t wait to showcase the final designs in the coming weeks. A special shoutout to Ms Burdett and her Unit 1 and 2 Visual Communications class. Staff have already had a sneak peak and we are super excited to release the results soon.

What’s Been Happening at KSC

There’s been plenty happening already this term, with students involved in a range of exciting opportunities and experiences:

  • Year 9 City Camp: Students explored Melbourne, building independence and teamwork while immersing themselves in the culture and history of the city. We can’t stress enough how proud we have been of how the Year 9s embraced this opportunity as a group.
  • Year 10 Outdoor Education Sailing Camp: Students took to the water for a hands-on experience that built confidence, resilience, teamwork and plenty of fun along the way.
  • School Captain Speeches: Our prospective school leaders impressed us with their passion, reflection, and commitment to making a difference at KSC. Again we were impressed with how the students as a whole gave respect to those that put themselves out there to present.
  • QUANTUM Program: A new group of Year 7 and Year 9 students have begun their journey in QUANTUM — a wellbeing-based program focused on developing respectful relationships through engaging, practical learning.

Year 12s on the Final Stretch

Our Year 12 students are now in the final stretch of their schooling journey, preparing for upcoming exams and celebrations. It’s been a big year filled with hard work, growth, and reflection. We wish them all the very best as they finish their classes and head into exams — the finish line is in sight!

It’s been a positive start to Term 4, and we’re proud of the way our students have embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm and respect. There’s lots more to come stay tuned for the release of our new Behaviour Matrix and a closer look at the values that make our school community strong.
