Sports News from Mr Flower

At the end of last term, our Stage 2 and 3 students travelled to Inverell to compete in a Soccer Gala Day. Our students were outstanding, as always, showing exemplary behaviour and sportsmanship in all their matches. Both our Junior and Senior teams had a mixture of results and scores throughout the day.

Thank you to Ms Sonego, Miss Houlden, and Miss Lyons for their help and guidance on the day.

A highlight of the day was watching one of our Senior teams compete in their semi-final match against Armidale. The match was a draw at the end of both full and extra time and continued into “golden point” territory. Our usual 20-minute game turned into almost an hour-long marathon match until the Armidale team scored a decisive goal!

What a way to end our term of sport! Well done to all our participating students and teams!

The Armidale Diocesan Cricket Trials will be held this year in Moree on the 24th October for any Year 5 students who would like to attend (this is to be a part of the 2026 Diocesan Team). If any students are interested, please email me ASAP on: jflower@arm.catholic.edu.au
