Year 2/3

Religious Education Focus: Jesus Teaches Us to Love

In Religious Education this term, our students have been learning about how Jesus teaches us to love. We have reflected on the belief that God has written His way of living and loving on our hearts, what we understand as conscience.

This week, we explored the great commandment of Jesus:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbour as you love yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

Students reflected on this message and discussed what it means for our everyday lives; showing love for God and extending kindness, compassion, and respect to others. To deepen their understanding, they created posters to visually represent this important teaching. Their artwork demonstrates both creativity and thoughtfulness, as they translated scripture into images and words that highlight love as the foundation of Christian life.

It has been inspiring to see how students are beginning to connect the message of Jesus’ commandment with their own actions, both inside and outside the classroom. We look forward to building on this important learning as the term continues.
