Students Celebrate Jubilee Year of Hope

This year, the Church is celebrating a Jubilee Year, known as the Jubilee Year of Hope. The tradition of Jubilee stretches back to the Old Testament and has evolved over time. The first Holy Year was proclaimed by Pope Boniface VIII in 1300, and today, Jubilees are marked every 25 years with prayer, pilgrimage, and symbols such as the Holy Door.

As part of the Diocese’s celebration, student leaders from across all Diocesan schools gathered at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Wagga for a day of prayer, workshops, and reflection. The event concluded with a Mass celebrated by the Bishop.

Our school was proudly represented by Year 6 leaders, with Isabelle reading one of the prayers of the faithful. Students also contributed a message of hope: Frank adapted our school logo, and Ella designed artwork featuring the word believe, surrounded by light — a powerful symbol of Christ and faith.

The day was uplifting and inspiring, with our Year 6 leaders showing curiosity, creativity, and reverence as they represented our school with pride.
