Principal's Report
Joshua Kamener - Year 8 Assistant Principal
2025 is racing towards the finish line. Term 4 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting end to the school year, including the Graduations of our Year 6 and Year 9 classes. To kick-off the festive season, I wanted to wish a Happy Diwali (Festival of Lights) to our students, staff and families who celebrate this special time of the year!
Our focus across the College is on ‘finishing strong’ - maintaining high expectations, positive relationships, and consistent routines.
At the start of every term, each year level and class revisits the expectations and routines that support every student to be a successful learner and a respectful member of our College community. As a School-Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS) school, we explicitly teach and reinforce the behaviours that help our community thrive: Ready to Learn, Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient.

In the first two weeks of this term, assemblies across the College helped to ensure that expectations were clear and consistent for all students.

Below are some key whole-school reminders as we work together to end the year well:

We use a safe space to calm down and ask for help when needed.
When students demonstrate these behaviours, we celebrate and reinforce them through positive feedback, tokens, and Positive Chronicles. Our token shops have been extremely popular throughout the year with Foundation to Year 6 being run by our incredible College and House Captains in Year 6 and our 7-9 token shops have engaged a number of student volunteers to keep up with the high demand! Our token shops are already buzzing with activity this term and we look forward to seeing many more students recognised for their positive behaviours!

We will also be celebrating our Resilient Values Day on Wednesday the 5th of November, which is an opportunity for our College to highlight the value of resilience and the role that it plays in how we believe, achieve, succeed.
When expectations are not met, we apply evidence-based strategies and logical consequences to support students in learning from their experiences. Our SWPBS team continues to work closely with teaching staff and student leaders to ensure our approach remains clear, consistent, and fair.

We also value the important role families play in supporting our shared expectations. Here are some simple ways you can help your child finish the year well:
We deeply appreciate your partnership in helping every student come to school each day ready to learn, respectful, responsible, and resilient.
Stay tuned for opportunities later this term and into Term 1, 2026, to share your thoughts and get involved in our ongoing SWPBS and wellbeing initiatives. Together, we’re building a positive, supportive community for every learner.
