Wellbeing and Inclusion Update

Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (4Rs)

Beginning this week (Week 1 of Term 4), we are starting Topic 7 – Norms and Stereotypes of the 4R’s program.

When exploring this topic over the next three weeks, students will consider the influence of norms on attitudes, opportunities and behaviour. They will learn about inclusion, human rights and the importance of relationships that respect all people.

Students in each of the year levels will cover the following areas:

Foundation – their likes/dislikes, their hopes/dreams, and when to be strong/gentle.

Grade 1 & 2 – activities they like to do, labels (ie. girls can’t play footy, it’s for boys), and fair play (following rules).

Grade 3 & 4 – similarities/differences from others, roles in the community, and rights and responsibilities.

Grade 5 & 6 – traditions/rituals within families, social media/media and unpacking data linked to professions in the Australian workforce.
