2025 School Theme - Why Team, Why Team Westbreen

Principal’s Message

Dear Westbreen PS Families,

Welcome back! I hope you all had an outstanding break and spent some time together with the important people in your lives. All the wonderful members of the Team Westbreen staff are so excited to be back and have already continued all the work that has been done throughout this year. We have another excellent term ahead and we know it will be the perfect way to finish 2025.

Book Fair

It is that time of the year again! We have the book fair open from 3:15-3:45 on Tuesday the 7th until Monday 13th of October. It will be a great chance to build the love of reading and books that is cultivated every single day in all the classrooms at Westbreen. Reading is such a vital skill and having a wide range of books to read enhances the love and enthusiasm for high quality literature. Please come and say hello to our wonderful staff who will be there to talk all things books and reading.

After School Cricket Blasts

Throughout the first 4 weeks of this term, there will be a Cricket Blast Program occurring on a Wednesday straight after school. It will be an opportunity to learn new skills, be active and enjoy working with others playing one of Australia’s favourite sports. If this is something that interests you, we strongly encourage that you get involved.

Swimming

We will be commencing our swimming program in Term 4 which will cater for a range of year levels. Swimming will be occurring in weeks 3 and 4 and weeks 6 and 7 of this term. All students across the school will be participating in the swimming experience as it is such an important life skill to build. A timetable that shows when classes are going will be provided at a later date when all the required information has been confirmed. We look forward to seeing all the students have so much success in the pool.

5/6 Immigration Museum Excursion

Our wonderful 5/6 students will be travelling to the Immigration Museum as part of the learning they will be completing in Term 4. It will give them a chance to hear the stories of others and gain insights from other families who have come to Australia. I know the students will represent our school in outstanding fashion and will do us all proud.

2026 Enrolments

Thank you to all the families who have already submitted their enrolment forms! We encourage our 2026 Foundation families to visit the office to complete the enrolment process by filling out the school enrolment form and providing evidence of their child's date of birth and immunisation record. To assist with planning, we kindly request that parents finalise their enrolments by the end of this term. This is crucial as we begin workforce planning in early Term 3. If you have any questions or need clarification regarding the enrolment process, please contact Ms. Kerry Parfett, our Community and Enrolment Facilitator.

Thank you for your continued support. Wishing everyone a safe and happy week ahead.
