From Student Voice Council

Free Dress Day

On Wednesday the 12th of June LPS had a free dress day. It was super fun, the process we had to do to get it organised started with voting. First the Student Voice Council voted on some topics to narrow down the options to raise money for the charity and what we were going to dress up as on the day. The Charity options we decided on were The National Breast Cancer Foundation, The Lions Club, Australian Red Cross and The Royal Children's Hospital. The dress up themes were Free dress, 80’s dress up or Pj day. All the SVC representatives went to their classes to take their classes votes for the charity and the dress up theme. The winning vote for the charity was the Royal Children's Hospital with the theme being free dress.

The outfits we saw consisted of a lot of White fox hoodies, Footy or basketball jerseys and comfortable clothes like trackies . There was also a mix of dresses and some semi formal clothes with some oodies that looked very comfy but people were upset about not being able to wear crocs as they would be breaking a school rule. Everyone was required to bring in a gold coin donation for the Royal Children's Hospital and the amount of money we raised was huge! Drumroll please………We raised $660!! All this money that we raised  will go to the Royal Children's Hospital to help unfortunate sick kids. Thank you to Miss D and the rest of the SVC representatives for making this day possible and  thank you for donating!
