From the Head of Ivanhoe Edge

Michelle van Beek, Head of Ivanhoe Edge

It has been a fabulous first full Semester for Ivanhoe Edge with so much to celebrate. We have extended our offerings to include Cricket, Dance and Soccer. Additionally, we have put together an extensive Holiday Program, which will be rolling out over the next three holiday seasons. For this term break we have two programs you can enrol in, focused on strength and conditioning. These cover Learning to Lift, and Speed and Agility. These sessions are suitable to any students aged 8 and over. We also are offering the opportunity to join an AFL clinic again, which was a huge success last holiday break. Matthew Kreuzer will run this session focusing on getting finals ready. In the September break we are planning on offering a great session on how to be a DJ, and a dance focused program around building your strength as a dancer. Further details and how to book into our holiday programs for this term break are in the Holiday Program article

Excitedly, we are also extending our uniform, with some fabulous new items arriving mid next term. This includes leggings, tracksuit pants, shorts, long sleeve training top, hoodies and caps. Things to keep us all warm during the colder months. Thank you everyone for the wonderful feedback about the uniform, I am thrilled you love the bright Ivanhoe Learner colours as much as we do! The full range is now available to order. If you are interested please email edge@ivanhoe.com.au for an order form. I am also thrilled to let you know that during the last two weeks of Term 2, Ivanhoe Edge students are permitted to wear their Ivanhoe Edge T Shirts to school on the days they have their training sessions, along with their PE uniform. This will also happen again in Term 3 and 4

This semester we launched our Parent and Student Information Nights. There are more to come next semester. These an important part of Ivanhoe Edge, as our philosophy and approach is founded in the partnership we have with families. Alongside developing specific skills for our students, our focus is also on building community, educating everyone involved for great holistic outcomes. More information about our info nights can be found in the article further in this newsletter titled Student and Parent Workshops.

So many exciting things to look forward to next semester, including a visit to VIS, the launch of Junior Edge and performing arts offerings.

Junior Edge is specifically designed for students in Years 2 through to Years 4. Coaches have developed foundational programs for skill development, strength and conditioning for these students to enjoy.
