Breaksea House News

To our amazing Students

You did it! This term has been a testament to the resilience, dedication, and maturity of our students. From academic achievements to personal growth, each one of you has shone brightly in your own unique way, and it fills me with immense pride to witness your accomplishments.

I want to commend everyone for their diligent preparation and hard work during the exams. It's not just about the grades you received, but the effort and determination you put into your studies. Many of you demonstrated exceptional emotional maturity when faced with results that didn't quite meet your expectations. Instead of dwelling on setbacks, you sought out healthy ways to cope and recharge.

It has been truly impressive to see how you managed your well-being through various means such as exercise, relaxation sessions, spending moments with friends, engaging in music practice, or simply taking a breather away from campus. These activities not only helped you unwind but also fostered a sense of balance and resilience that is crucial for navigating both academic challenges and life's ups and downs.

On the weekend we enjoyed a fire pit out the back of Breaksea and reflected on the semester. Here are some of the comments our boarders were happy for me to share.

Some highlights include:

  • The practical aspect in subjects, music and art in particular
  • Writing my own song and getting to perform it
  • Full Colours in cross-country as well as enjoying the atmosphere around the fire-pit
  • Country Week!

Some goals for next term:

  • Stick with the Zen Den sessions, as it was such a great way to destress after a long day of studying and exams
  • Work towards managing stress better

Every one of you should take pride in what you have achieved this term, whether it's academic success, personal growth, or simply overcoming hurdles along the way. Your perseverance and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and they serve as an inspiration to us all.

As we look forward to the holiday ahead, I encourage each of you to take time to relax, rejuvenate, and celebrate your accomplishments. You have truly earned it! May your holidays be filled with joy, relaxation, and unforgettable moments. Here's to a well-deserved break and the bright future that awaits us when we return.

To our wonderful Supervisors

As we reach the end of another term, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to you all. Your dedication, care, and support have made a significant impact on the lives of all our students, including myself.

Throughout this term, you have gone above and beyond your duties, ensuring that every student feels not only welcomed but truly valued and supported. Your roles extend far beyond supervising; you listen attentively to our concerns, mentor us through challenges, encourage us in our endeavours, and even treat us to your delicious baking, which never fails to bring smiles to our faces. Your kindness and generosity of spirit create a warm and nurturing environment where we can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your commitment to our well-being does not go unnoticed. Whether it's late-night tutoring sessions, pep talks before exams, or simply being there to lend an ear after a tough day, your presence makes a world of difference to each one of us.

As we head into the holiday break, I hope you take time to rest and recharge, knowing that your efforts have made a lasting impact on all of us. Your kindness and care have touched our hearts, and we are truly fortunate to have such wonderful supervisors like you.

Leaders' Report

On 16 June we had our annual boarding Quiz Night. The whole boarding community got together to answer questions, complete fun activities, and eat great food provided by the catering staff.

There were many different categories such as naming a WA town beginning with each letter of the alphabet and matching supervisors to pictures of baby photos, which was harder than expected. We all got a chance to win some prizes by completing challenges like singing a song or having a prize under random chairs.

Big congratulations to the Black team for finishing the night with the highest score and getting some awesome prizes.

Thanks to Mr Donaldson for being MC and making us all laugh. Also, a huge thank you to Mrs. Franzinelli for putting so much time and effort into organising the whole night.
