Endeavour House News

I extend my sincere gratitude to all Endeavour girls and their families for a wonderful semester – it's been action packed, with lots happening and I've enjoyed all the ups and downs along the way. I would like to acknowledge and commend the outstanding work of our boarding staff, with special mention to Amber Freeman, Paige Boyley, Mia Collins, Jade Irwin, Lauren Sutherland, Liz Cosh, Carter Wight and Grace Larham. These women consistently demonstrate unwavering dedication and support to the girls. Jade and Mia will be taking some time away from boarding, as they pursue other work and study opportunities. I wish them both all the very best of luck and look forward to having them back from time to time, on a relief basis.
I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Fenella O'Neill and Grace Bailey as House Captains at Endeavour House for 2024. Grace and Fenella were selected by their peers at the start of this term and are emerging as very considered, compassionate, thoughtful and articulate leaders, to represent the girls in the house. Both girls are very approachable and hold their own when they sit down with Mr Keatch each fortnight to discuss Junior boarding initiatives. I have been impressed with Grace and Fenella’s strategy to collect feedback, using an old ‘suggestion box’ found in the rec shed. This is a non-threatening way for students to voice their ideas, in a confidential manner. Pleasingly, all suggestions thus far have been constructive and practical. I wish Grace and Fenella all the very best, as they continue with their plans to reinvigorate the rec shed in Term Three.
Despite the recent wet and cool weather, the girls at our boarding house have been keeping busy with the new Ninja Creami. They've been experimenting with homemade smoothies, ice-creams, milkshakes, and iced concoctions! As the winter sports season kicks off this term, supervisors are collaborating with students to help them fulfill their training and game obligations, all the while emphasising the importance of recovery through maintaining healthy habits such as adequate sleep, hydration, nutrition, and organisation. Finding a balance between activities and downtime is important for students to thrive in boarding house life. Those who strike this balance tend to cope better overall.
It has been very pleasing to see the Endeavour girls dedicating themselves to finishing the semester strongly by focusing on improving their study habits and creating effective prep routines. I have provided individual comments for each student in their school reports and have provided feedback, based on seven key traits and behaviours. These reports are intended to serve as a valuable tool for both students and parents, highlighting the progress made this semester and identifying any areas that may require attention.
Overall, it's been a fantastic semester, and I am looking forward to Term Three! Please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your daughter’s progress, or for any other reason.
Birthdays
We send our best wishes to Elina Caelli, Evita Rumble, Esteanne Newfield and Isabel Bailey who all celebrated their birthday in June.
I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday.
