Deputy Principal's Report

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 3. I hope that you enjoyed a break over the holidays and had a chance to do something special as a family.

We are gearing up for a very productive term, at moment, with so many wonderful events to prepare for and participate in.

Random Acts of Kindness

I would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to the following students for their exemplary display of kindness towards others. It's truly inspiring to witness students across different year levels supporting one another and making an effort to spread kindness. Your actions make our school community a better place for everyone.

Milla A. (3IM) and Georgia B. (3IM) For helping a friend during recess and lunch who can’t go out to play

Lawson S. (3IM) For making a canteen purchase for a friend who is unable to go to the playground

Caitlin C. (4IS) and Antoina P. (4IS) For their willingness and enthusiasm to always lend a hand

Illness

I'd like to emphasise the importance of keeping our school community safe and healthy. With the ongoing challenges posed by various illnesses, it's crucial that we all do our part to protect one another.

One of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of illness within our school is by ensuring that children who are unwell stay home until they are fully recovered. If your child is unwell, please keep them home. In the event of an absence, please notify the school office.

Bike/Scooter Safety

Can we please remind all of our students to wear their helmets when riding to and from school. Wearing a helmet is essential for safety and can greatly reduce the risk of serious head injuries in case of an accident. It is important to follow our road safety rules but it is also important to protect ourselves and ensure a safe journey every day.

Junior Pool Lifesaving State Chamionships

A number of our very talented Year 2 and 3 students participated in the recent Junior Pool Lifesaving State Chamionships held at Geelong Grammar on the 23rd of June.

A total of 96 athletes from U8 to U11 across thirteen Victorian LifeSaving Clubs competed throughout the day.  The Mentone LifeSaving Club finished 2nd overall in the State!

We would like to extend a very big congratulations to;

Poppi G. (2BL) - 2 silver medals (U8)

Murphy B. (2AH) - 2 silver medals (U8)

Ruby H. (2AH) - 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals (U8)

Evie A (3IM) - 4 gold and 3 silver medals (U9)

Best wishes to you and your families,
