School Council News

As we conclude Term 2, we would like to wish everyone a fantastic break! Term 2 has been a busy period at Cheltenham Secondary College, highlighted by the success of the Exchange Program. We celebrated the 57th Avenues Exchange, enriching our students' cultural experiences and global perspectives. Additionally, the Ensemble Extravaganza Concert showcased our students' incredible talents and dedication to the arts. We also commend our students for their hard work during the term, including undertaking exams, and we look forward to their well-deserved rest during the break. Thank you to everyone for making Term 2 such a memorable and rewarding time.

Parents and Friends Association

We are inviting parents and friends to express their interest in joining the Cheltenham Secondary College Parents and Friends Association (PFA). The school council is looking into getting the PFA up and running again, and we aim to create a vibrant and enjoyable community group, not to overwhelm anyone with complex meetings or event management. By joining the PFA, you will be part of a supportive network, helping out at fundraising or college events in a way that suits your availability and interests. We want the PFA to be a place where everyone feels welcome and valued, contributing to the college's success while having fun, supporting each other and building connections. If you are interested in joining us, please complete the PFA Expression of Interest survey. If you have already completed the EOI, thank you! We have your details and will be in touch soon.

Parent, Student, Teacher Conferences

The college and school council are looking at possible improvements to the running of the  Parent, Student, Teacher Conferences, particularly ways to increase the availability for parents to make bookings in particular subject areas. We understand the importance of these conferences in fostering communication and collaboration between parents, students, and teachers, and we are committed to making these conferences as accessible as possible to everyone. The college is looking at a number of options to improve the booking and conference process. Our goal is to ensure that adequate time slots are available for all subjects and teachers, making it easier for parents to secure appointments that fit their schedules.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to finalise the conference process in the coming months. Our aim is to have this in place for the 2024/25 academic year. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Travel Opportunity EOI for 2025 - Italian Study Tour

We are excited to announce that the Council has approved (in principle) Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Italian travel program in 2025. This is in initial planning and further information will be made available to students and families soon.

Support our college

We believe in the value of government education for its core principles of diversity, quality of teaching and learning, and peer group interactions. Your assistance helps our college thrive, providing resources for the education our children deserve, teacher support, and professional development. To support our college, consider making voluntary contributions. Like all government schools, Cheltenham Secondary College has a limited budget, and your contributions help bridge the gap, providing resources to enhance education delivery such as specialised equipment, additional learning resources, buildings, and grounds. If you are able to contribute, please consider helping, as it makes a huge difference.
