Principal's Report

 Dear Parents,

How wonderful it was to see all of those ghosts and ghouls at our Halloween disco last week. It is events like these that challenge students' resilience and develop their independence which is why these things are so important. Thank you for bringing them along and thank you to the many staff who gave so freely of their time to stay around on a Friday after work to supervise and boogie the afternoon away.

On a more reflective note, it was also such a privilidge to see our student leaders once again take the school through our Remembrance Day service today with support from one of our parents who is a member of the Royal Australian Army. Having serving, or past service members, attend our service makes it that much more special as we can connect the goings-on to real people.

On behalf of the school we thank Sergeant Rhys Gould for your support of our service, and for your inspirational words with our school community.

As the weather warms up we are reminded about our upcoming swimming and water safety program. This year our grades prep to 4 students will have the opportunity to spend a week at Flippers learning these essential skills, whilst our grades five and six students will spend a full day at the beach in the last week of term learning those same skills yet in a different environment.

Please strongly consider sending your children to these opportunities as swimming is a life skill, and without it perhaps a life taker which would be devastating.

A reminder also as the weather warms up to please ensure your child has a school hat. I know we remind parents often however time and again we see students coming to school without sun protection. It is for their benefit that we enforce this rule, and why we have sunscreen dispensers throughout the school.  Please assist us in protecting your children by insisting they bring their hat to school.

Finally, as plans continue to take shape for 2025, we ask any parents who know their children will be moving to another school next year to please inform the office so we can take this into consideration.

Kind Regards,

Simon McGlade
