Principal’s Report

Public Holiday

A reminder to families that Wednesday 30th October is the Bendigo Cup holiday where the school will also be closed for the day.

Courage and Crowns

Our students in grades 4, 5 and 6 had a wonderful time learning with Megan Simpson from Courage and Crowns.  Thank you to Megan and our families for being involved in our evening session.

Be Brave

Our students in grades 4, 5 and 6 worked with the team from Bendigo Braves on the newly developed “Be Brave” program.  Students had the opportunity to practice their basketball skills during the session.

First Aid & CPR Professional Learning

On Friday our staff participated in First Aid & CPR Professional Learning.  A productive and informative day with Leah from Eclipse Education.

Principal’s Awards

Students are awarded a Principal’s Award when exemplary examples of student behaviour are observed by staff in the school.  Principal’s awards are a delightful component of the Positive Behaviours Intervention & Support (PBIS) Framework.  Students and staff within our school are very aware of the underpinning three expectations to be: Safe, Respectful and Responsible.  These expectations are what our staff are looking for when staff select their student of the week recipient.

In the instance of a Principal’s award, staff nominate students for exemplary examples of being Safe, Respectful and Responsible.  The Principal’s award is then presented to the student at the next assembly with parents being invited to attend.

Congratulations to Archer Heley, Denzel Rothacker, Clara Mowat, Dhrupad Binu, Thomas Eisten, Max Minster and Jaxon Steel

FIRE Carriers

Next Friday, 1st November, our grade 5 students will be participating in a FIRE Carriers workshop.  Followed by a commissioning ceremony at 2:45 pm. We congratulate these grade 5s for taking on the responsibility of leading the school next year.

World Teachers’ Day

On 25 October 2024, we celebrate World Teachers' Day, honouring the incredible contributions our teachers make every day. Our teacher’s dedication, passion, and commitment shape the future of our students and make a lasting impact on their lives.

Melbourne Cup Day Dress Up

Tuesday 5th November, St Kilian’s School will embrace the fun and excitement of the Melbourne Cup. Students and staff are invited to dress up in free dress, to celebrate ‘the race that stops the nation’.  Whilst students are encouraged to get dressed up in a Melbourne Cup theme, it is optional and those students not wishing to do so can still participate by wearing free dress for the day.
