5/6 WG

JPC Lightning Premiership

Last Tuesday all of the grade 5/6 students attended John Paul College to participate in either Soccer, Netball or Newcombe. It was a fantastic day had by all and we are so proud of the sportsmanship that was demonstrated on the day!

Writing

The students have been engaging in some 'would you rather' prompts to immerse them into our next unit of debating. They have thoroughly enjoyed providing responses for their choices. We provided students with a debating topic of 'Is camping the best family holiday'. They have begun the creative brainstorm and over the next few weeks they will prepare and engage in a proper debate! Please join us at our assembly to get an idea of some of their fantastic persuasive responses!

Maths

Last week we finished our probability unit and we have now begun looking a fractions, decimals and percentages. The students have been engaging in some different games and open ended tasks to consolidate their knowledge!

Inquiry

Students have been learning about the fruits and the gifts of the holy spirit and how we can use them in our everyday lives. Our students have come up with amazing definitions and examples of how the fruits can be used.
