3/4 L

Term 4, Week 3

Education in Faith - by Kevin 3/4L

In our recent Faith lessons, every student in 3/4L has chosen a quality in Discipleship to develop. Some qualities of Discipleship are forgiveness, gratitude and patience. We have also been learning about the Rosary, the Mysteries and the prayers. We learned the Glory Be, one of the prayers that we say after saying ten Hail Mary's. We used the Sorrowful Mysteries because we prayed the Rosary on a Friday, but on other days we might use the Joyful, Luminous or Glorious mysteries. One thing I have learned about the Rosary is that each set of Rosary beads is unique and might look different, but they all have the same prayers.

Chance & Probability - by Sapfo 3/4L

Hey parents! This term, our class is learning about the language of chance and probability. We did one activity with Smarties. For example, 6 out of 30 Smarties are pink, so it would be unlikely to pick pink from the box. We also made these colour wheel spinners and we wrote on a piece of paper the chance of getting a colour. For example, it is impossible to get brown if there is no brown on your spinner. It was really fun!

ACMI Excursion - by Harley 3/4L

On Tuesday in Week 3, we went to ACMI which is a museum all about the moving image. We went because in Inquiry we are doing a film festival. At ACMI we went on an Animation Trail. We saw how to make your own flipbook, a whole lot of different video games and controllers, a cuphead zoetrope and some phenakistiscopes (they are an old way of making animation). We had lunch at a nearby park. My favourite part of the day was making a flipbook of myself because it was very cool.
