Principals Message
As we wrap up another academic year, it’s time to congratulate all our students for their hard work and dedication. With exams now behind us, we should take a moment to reflect on the past year while also getting ready for the new school year ahead. The end of the term has been filled with formal assemblies, rewards excursions, and presentation nights that celebrated our students' successes. As we look forward, it’s crucial to understand the importance of being prepared.
Before we focus on the upcoming year, let’s celebrate what our students have accomplished. The end of the term was a time to recognise hard work and success. Our formal assemblies (in week 9 and Presentation Night on December10th) will highlight students who excelled in their academics, demonstrated leadership, showed sporting excellence and showed notable improvement. The rewards excursions will provide a fun break in recognition of all their hard work this year.
As the academic school year comes to a close, preparation for roll over in Week 6 becomes essential for the new year. Being prepared can greatly influence how students approach the upcoming year, helping them transition smoothly and paving the way for success. Here are some key areas where preparation can make a significant difference. Gathering the necessary supplies is crucial. This includes stationery (pens, ruler, etc) and books. Parents were sent a checklist can help ensure students and their families are aware of the equipment needed for the following year. Being organised with materials can establish a positive tone for the year, allowing students to focus on their studies.
The HSC examinations finished on Thursday November 7th. Thank you to Murray Hall, the Presiding Officer for the exams and examination supervisors – Lee Broad, Kerryn Cassidy, Rachel Bock, Judith Gawne, Joanne Steward and Phillip Beaumont for their organisation and support of students during the examinations.
All families need to be aware that the Department of Education has made some changes to the start of 2025. Staff will return to school on Friday January 31, 2025. All students will return on Thursday February 6, 2025. Please ensure that you have noted this changed in your family diary.
