LOUD Shirt Free Dress Day
On Tuesday 29 October, Junior School Council will be organising a Loud Shirt Free Dress Day. On the day we encourage students to wear a bright and colourful shirt/t-shirt to support children and young people with hearing loss.
In exchange for free dress we request students donate a gold coin or donate via QKR to Deaf Children Australia. This dedicated not-for-profit organisation promotes the rights of deaf and hard of hearing children and young people with programs and services that foster community connections and provide every opportunity for individuals to reach their full potential. Loud Shirt Day is the perfect excuse to be bold and bright by wearing it LOUD and raising funds. Promoting awareness and acceptance aligns with our school's values and positive behaviours outlined in our SWPBS Matrix.
On the day Levels 3-6 will participate in a Q & A session with speakers who have lived experience with deafness and hearing loss.
Thank you for your support,
Junior School Council
JSC Article
Our school was incredibly fortunate to have a feature story about our Junior School Council and the wonderful work they do, in particular, our celebration of Abel (our World Vision child) in The Educator Australia.
The article highlighted the importance of community minded events providing students with opportunities to function within a sustainable global society.
