Foundation News:
In Week 1 in Prep, we have been learning about ANZAC Day and why it is an important time to remember and honour those who have served our country. We read the story Anzac Ted, which helped us understand the meaning of bravery, remembrance, and caring for others in a way that was meaningful for our young learners.
To connect with this learning, students participated in a creative activity where they traced and decorated their hands to contribute to a special class wreath. This hands-on experience allowed students to reflect on the idea of remembrance and work together to create something respectful and symbolic.
It has been a thoughtful and engaging week in Prep, as students began to develop an understanding of ANZAC Day through stories, discussion, and creative expression.
Grade 1:
It’s great to be back and settling into our learning routines after the break. The students have made a wonderful start to the term, and we are excited for what’s ahead.
Every Wednesday during Session 5, Grade 1 students will participate in our Sports program. These sessions are designed to help students develop and strengthen their gross motor skills through a range of fun, engaging activities. Students will be practising fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, balancing, and coordination, while also being introduced to new skills as they progress.
A strong focus will also be placed on teamwork, cooperation, and fair play. Students will have opportunities to work together in pairs and groups, learning how to support one another, take turns, and follow instructions in a positive and active environment.
A friendly reminder that hats are essential for all outdoor sports sessions. Please ensure your child brings a clearly labelled hat each day to support sun safety.

Grade 2:
What a fantastic start back we've had throughout the Grade 2 cohort in Term 2!
In Literacy, we've been enjoying our book study on Fantastic Mr Fox. Students have learnt several new vocabulary words, and have used these to create engaging sentences where they have responded to the text. We look forward to using this new knowledge and understanding of narratives, when we write our own entertaining stories in the coming weeks.
In Maths, students have completed a successful unit of work on addition and subtraction. They've used their skills of bridging 10 to demonstrate addition and subtraction concepts on a number line, and with MAB.
In Integrated studies, students have enjoyed learning all about Uluru, investigating its unique habitat, and understanding more about the flora and fauna.
Many students attended ANZAC Day services on 25/05/2026, and students spent time in classrooms understanding more about the significance of the day.
We eagerly look forward to our upcoming Mother's Day celebrations!
Grade 3:
This term in Grade 3 we have had a great start back - our students have been enjoying reading the story Brindabella by Ursula Dubosarksy. We have been learning about story-telling and narrative elements, as well as the Australian bush where the story is set. In maths we have been learning about fractions - our students have done an amazing job of being able to represent and name fractions in different ways. We have also been learning about First Nations Australians and Country, and practising our skills using computers in order to create a presentation over the course of this term.
Our classes also spent time learning about ANZAC Day, creating wreaths with the school in remembrance of this event.
Grade 4:
This term, our Year 4 students have been enjoying our class novel, The Tale of Despereaux, while developing their comprehension and discussion skills. In Mathematics, students have been building their understanding of decimals, with a focus on tenths and hundredths. In our Respectful Relationships learning, we have been exploring personal strengths and how these help us build positive connections with others.
We would also like to congratulate Violet from 4D, Weston from 4S and James from 4W for their fantastic efforts at Cross Country — we are very proud of your achievements!
Grade 5/6:
It has been a busy but fantastic start to Term 2 in Year 5/6. Students have returned with great energy and enthusiasm, ready to learn and take on new challenges. It has been wonderful to see everyone settling back into routines so quickly and showing a positive attitude towards their learning.
At the beginning of the term, students explored the importance of ANZAC Day and why it is such a significant event in Australia’s history. Each class worked collaboratively to create a beautiful wreath, showing respect and gratitude for those who have served our country. Students also participated in a range of meaningful activities that helped deepen their understanding of remembrance and mateship.
Students have also selected their winter sports for Senior Sport, choosing between netball, teeball, AFL and soccer. Training has already begun, with students developing their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. There is a strong sense of excitement as they prepare to represent the school and compete against other schools in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to seeing their confidence grow as they apply their new skills in game situations.
