Experiences Bolster a Broad and Balanced Education

The final two weeks of term have been a hive of activity, with students and teachers involved in an exceptionally full program of camps, excursions, competitions and co‑curricular events. I would like to share my sincere appreciation for the extraordinary effort of everyone who contributed to these experiences, helping to make them enriching, safe and successful for our students.

Across the school, students have taken part in a wide range of experiences, including Cadet Camp, Chess and Debating competitions, academic excursions, Hockey and Touch Football representative trials, Rowing Nationals, Service Camp, the Year 7 Try Sports Gala Day, and the Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey. These programs extend learning beyond the classroom and help young people strengthen leadership, teamwork, resilience and personal growth.

Each excursion, camp and competition requires substantial preparation and commitment. Our teachers and support teams have given generously of their time and energy to supervise, coach and mentor, and to look after student wellbeing while groups have been off campus. Meanwhile, colleagues at school stepped in to cover classes, adjust programs and provide extra assistance for those who remained on site, ensuring learning continued smoothly for everyone.

Experiences like this are a strong expression of our school values. They demonstrate the professionalism, flexibility and care shown by our community, and a shared commitment to providing a broad and balanced education. The experiences our students enjoy, whether in sport, service, outdoor education or academic extension, are made possible through this collective effort.

We also extend our very best wishes to students and accompanying teachers travelling on our overseas tours during the Easter break. We hope the Sri Lanka Netball and Cricket tour is a rewarding experience, filled with strong competition, teamwork and memorable cultural connections. We also wish those participating in the History and Religion tour to Vietnam and Cambodia safe travels and rich learning as they explore these significant places and deepen their understanding of the region’s history, faith traditions and lived experiences.

As we approach the Easter break, we wish all families a happy, safe and restful holiday. May this be a time to pause, recharge and enjoy time together. We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready for the term ahead.
