Principal's Message

Dear St Joseph’s Families,
As we wrap up an incredibly busy and productive first term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful sense of community we’ve shared over the past few weeks. It has been a joy to see our students thriving and our families engaging so deeply with school life.
Today, our school community participates in the Stations of the Cross. This moving liturgy allows us to reflect on the significant events leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. As we enter the Easter break, I pray that everyone has the time to rest, spend time with loved ones, and reflect on the hope and renewal this season brings. The following is the St Mary’s Catholic Church Easter Liturgy schedule:
- Holy Thursday - 6pm
- Good Friday - 3pm
- Easter Saturday - 8pm
Welcome new staff!
Next term we are very excited to be welcoming three new staff members to the St Joseph’s school Community. Miss Tina Deng will be taking over from Mrs Dennis in Stage 1. We thank Mrs Dennis for her commitment to teaching; having Miss Deng will now allow her to focus on her Inclusion Support Teacher role. Miss Laura Gordon will be teaching with Mrs Holcombe and Mrs Schiller in Stage 3. We also welcome Mrs Erin McGrath as the new canteen supervisor. We are looking forward to having all three join our staff!
Open Classroom Success
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our very first Open Classrooms morning. It was a fantastic success! We were thrilled to provide a window into the daily life of our school and showcase the high-quality teaching and learning taking place in every room. We will have another Open Classroom morning held in Term 2. Photos are included within this Newsletter.
Cultural Plans Information Session
Thank you to the families who attended our information session regarding Personalised Cultural Plans. This was a vital opportunity to share how these plans support our students’ identities and learning journeys. If you were unable to attend or have further questions, please contact the school office to speak with Sharon Pitt.
Caritas Fundraising
Last week, our school community rallied together to support Caritas and Project Compassion. Through various fundraising activities, we raised a spectacular $2912.60. These funds will go directly toward supporting vulnerable communities globally. We truly appreciate your generosity.
Coonamble Football and Netball
This week, Stage 2 and Stage 3 travelled to Coonamble for the NRL and Netball carnival. Our students represented the school with immense pride. Everyone played extremely well and the sportsmanship and team spirit displayed by everyone was outstanding. Well done, teams!
Polding Swimming Championships
A massive congratulations to George T, who competed at the NSW Swimming Championships at Homebush this week. Competing at such a high level is a feat in itself, but George also achieved a new Personal Best (PB) in the 50m freestyle! We are incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication.
