Student Learning

What is happening around the school

Foundation

In Foundation we have been learning all about numbers up to 20. We are collecting, counting and checking all the different ways we can make these numbers.

Grade 1

In Grade 1 we have been making the most of the lovely weather and taking our learning outside. We have been practising our reading strategies with our Fluency Partners.

Grades 3 & 4

Grade 3 and 4 have been learning about symmetry. Students have investigated 2D shapes and identified if there is a line of symmetry or multiple lines of symmetry within them.

Symmetry can also be found in our natural environment. Students collected a leaf from outside, cut it in half and used reflective symmetry to draw the other half.

In Grade One, we have been learning about fractions in Maths. We made some fractions by segmenting playdough. Can you name some of our fractions from the photos?

As part of our Positive Education unit, we have been discussing and identifying why learning about others is important. These are some hand-drawn pictures of the families in year one from a friend's perspective.

Grades 5 & 6

5/6 Maths Fun!

The Grade 5/6’s have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes this week. They have been practising note-taking, building 3D shapes and identifying the number of faces, edges and vertices they contain. Lots of fun and creativity in maths lessons!
