Term 2, Week 8

Moonlit Sanctuary

On Friday, 31st May, the Year 3/4s went to Moonlit Sanctuary in Pearcedale as part of our Inquiry and Education in Faith unit about sustainability and conservation. There we participated in the 'Rarer and Rarer' program. We had the opportunity to feed the wallabies and kangaroos in the Wallaby Walk, get up close with a snake and lizard in the Reptile Encounter, visit Carnivore Corner, and see plenty of native Australian animals. This term, we have been looking at how we can care for God's creation, have researched endangered animals, and have learned how we can implement, and be a part of, effective conservation practices at home and school to help protect many of these threatened species. Stay tuned for details of our Sustainability Showcase, when we will be inviting you to see some of the incredible work our students have been doing!
