From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to belive that this term is offically halfway through already! Please note that bookings are now open for Parent Teacher Conferences and these will take place in Week 9. This is a great opportunity for you to touch base with us about your child's learning and bookings can be made via compass.
Over the past 2 weeks we have been blessed to be able to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with our Year 6 students. Fr John recently spoke about a very special young man in our faith named Carlo Acutis. Carlo was an Italian teen website designer who loved playing video games and taught himself computer coding and animation. He passed away at the age of 15 and was devoted to the Eucharist and an incredibly devout Catholic who went on regular pilgrimages across Europe. Carlo had a special love for God and his own strong faith and love for God inspired his Mother, who once not been as devout, to rediscover her love for the Eucharist and the Holy Spirit. It has been said that he “managed to drag his relatives, his parents to Mass every day. It was not the other way around; it was not his parents bringing the little boy to Mass, but it was he who managed to get himself to Mass and to convince others to receive Communion daily.”
As we take the time to reflect on our own journey with the Lord, and our child's vow to renew their faith and strengthen their bond with the Holy Spirit, this young teen is a role model to all. Carlo was beatified in 2020 and will be canonised as a Saint either this year or next. He is commonly referred to as the Saint of the Digital World and is likely to become the first “millennial saint” after two miracles attributed to him were recognised by Pope Francis.
