NORTH CENTRAL DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY 2024
On Friday 17th May, 15 Donald High School students completed in the annual Interschool Cross Country competition held in St. Arnaud. All our competitors were extremely competitive across all age groups.
A big congratulations to Layla Griffiths (Junior Girls), Hugo Funcke (Junior Boys) and Abby Griffiths (Senior Girls) for convincingly winning their respective events. The times that our winners completed their hilly 3km course were as follows:
Layla Griffiths. 13.50 min
Hugo Funcke 11.32 min
Abby Griffiths 13.16 min
Other Donald students to finish in the top 10 and who now qualify to represent the school at the zone cross country next Tuesday on the 28th of May include:
- Milla Adams 7th Junior girls 3km. (15.18min)
- Samuel Mortlock 7th Junior boys 3km (13.27min)
- Baxter Donnellon 10th Intermediate boys 5km (19.41)
- Scarlett Funcke 9th senior girls. 3km (15.28min)
- Curtis Rice 10th senior boys. 5km (19.58min)
Whilst Donald High School came fifth overall our competitors should be extremely proud of their efforts as we only took a small team of 15 students to the event. We have 8 competitors who have qualified for the Loddon Mallee Regional Championships that will be held at the same venue on Tuesday 28th May. We wish them the best of luck.
