St Mary's is always honoured to host pre-service teachers for their student placements. Our learning design and curriculum is based on the most current research and our Positive Behaviour Policy is student-focused and relevant to the needs of all students. Student teachers are given the opportunity to be inspired by our amazing school and team of teachers, led by Gab.
Recently, we have had Mikki Rowan in Gr 1/2 for three days a week doing her placement hours for her Masters in Education Degree, from Swinbourne. Mikki thoroughly enjoyed her time at St Mary's and was very well supported by Monica Smith and Andrea Kirkpatrick. The students also benefited from having her support and input in their learning environment. Mikki thanked all the staff for supporting her with a lovely morning tea on her last day.
We are also hosting Tara McCoy from ACU (Australian Catholic University) in Canberra for her rural placement. Tara is completing her Bachelor of Education degree and is in her third year. Tara has been with the Grade 6 community for the past 3 weeks and finishes up this Friday. Our mixed netball team wa very lucky to have Tara coach them to success last Thursday.
