Year 1

Minibeast Incursion with Labcoat Learning

On Monday 20 May, Year 1 students participated in an incursion with Labcoat Learning. It was a wonderful hands-on experience for the students to delve deeper into their integrated unit of 'Minibeasts'. Students first spoke with Liz about their learning thus far, discussing what they know about Minibeasts, their features and different body parts. Students then rotated through four highly engaging rotations to learn and explore.

Here is what some students had to say about their experiences:

“I like feeding the butterflies.”

“I like the colour of the scorpion.”

“When we were with the butterflies, we saw the other animal lay an egg!”

“I liked searching for crickets, oh and the butterflies.”

“I loved EVERYTHING.”

“It was cool doing the clay thing.”

“When we were digging, we saw the crickets and we got to have a closer look.”

“I really loved learning new facts about Minibeasts.”

“I loved feeding the butterflies it was so cool.”
