Year 10 Work Experience

Week 5 Term 2, 2024

Our Year 10 students spent last week doing their work experience! We had 40 students go to various workplaces, and we are so grateful to the businesses that agreed to host our students. We have received great feedback from the employers informing us that they have been so impressed with our students' enthusiasm and how they thrived in their work placements!

Mr Forbes-Taber and Mr McLean had the privilege of visiting a few of our students to see how they were doing throughout the week:

Boadicea gave Mr McLean and Mr Forbes-Taber a tour of the Riverina Conservatorium of Music, where they watched a few performances by a student musician who was being examined at the time. Meanwhile, Boadicea also stated how she learnt about the diverse careers in music, which extend far beyond just becoming a performer.

Hamish had a great week working on commercial furniture products at Interior Constructions. The owner Darren Cook said Hamish had been excellent so far and had the opportunity to go on-site for installations as well as working in the workshop.

Imogen enjoyed engaging with all the children in the childcare centre, especially those who struggled. Supervisor Lily Hodgson was thoroughly impressed with Imogen's ability to build rapport with young children so quickly, especially in her positive attitude and willingness to try all aspects of the role.

Well done to our Year 10 students for giving this week their best efforts. A big shoutout to our Admin team who work really hard to ensure that our work experience weeks are a success!
