November 10th, 2025 Leroy
Where to begin with this week’s superhero?
Leroy is receiving the award for demonstrating our school value of Respect and the learning disposition of Creativity. He is a student who truly shows what it means to be thoughtful, original, a deep thinker, and kind individual.
Leroy is a creative and enthusiastic learner who brings energy and positivity to everything he does. He has a wonderful imagination that shines through in his creative writing, where stories are always full of clever ideas, portals and humour. He also approaches learning with enthusiasm, always giving his best effort and showing genuine curiosity to learn more and make connections.
This grade 2 student is a friendly and respectful classmate who values his friendships and treats others with kindness and care. Leroy loves sharing a laugh with his friends, especially when chatting about his passions — soccer and playing the drums! His upbeat attitude and team spirit make him a valued member of Studio 4.
And if Leroy could choose any hairstyle, it would definitely be a mullet — and by the look of things, he’s already well on his way!
Congratulations Leroy, we hope you've had a great week.

Term 4 in the Grade 1/2 unit
In our Mappen unit this term, we have been learning about objects in our solar system. Over the past two weeks, students have been researching a specific planet and have created a poster to show what they have learnt. The facts they have uncovered have been fascinating!
In Maths this week, students have been reviewing multiplication. They showed different strategies, such as drawing arrays, using repeated addition and making groups to solve problems.
To commemorate Remembrance Day on November 11, students discussed the importance of the day and completed a range of craft and writing activities to remember our fallen soldiers. Here is a sample of what they produced.
Student Council
We are delighted to announce that through our recent participation in Bandanna Day, Kyneton Primary School raised $1,211, significantly exceeding our target of $700. The money raised will help support young Australians living with cancer through Canteen’s programs, counselling, and peer support services.
Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Music News
At Monday’s assembly, we were treated to an excellent violin ensemble performance from our amazing KPS violin students. Each student performed a piece on their own, and we then enjoyed a combined ensemble item that even featured Brielle on the cello!
From Grade 2, students at KPS can enrol in the instrumental music program. We offer guitar, ukulele, voice, violin, woodwind, and brass. Instrumental enrolment forms and program information are available at the office, or I can send them electronically.
Next year, Pauline will be starting a Beginner Violin Ensemble. We have violins available for hire at school. If your child is interested, Pauline can meet with them this term, so they are ready to begin in Term 1, 2026.

Uniform Sale
Lowes is holding a 20% off 3 day sale this week from November 12th - 14th.
Shop online or visit a store to take advantage of the sale to purchase uniform.
For items that are out of stock, families can go into store and ask staff to use the “Notify Me” system. This will ensure you receive the 20% off when the item becomes available for collection.
School Saving Bonus (SSB) Allocation Issues
Due to an issue with the School Saving Bonus (SSB) system, schools are currently unable to view up-to-date family SSB balances or allocate SSB to pay for activities.
As a consequence, if you have nominated to use SSB or other credit to pay for an event in Compass your student may be showing as outstanding.
Where this has occurred students will be considered as attending and when the system is working, we will then allocate the credit to settle the amount due. If there is insufficient SSB to fully pay for an activity, we will contact you to settle any balance once the system is fixed.
Thank you for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Ride to School Fridays
We are thrilled to announce that every Friday from now until the end of Term 1 next year is officially Ride to School Friday! 🚲🛴🚶♀️
Let’s make the most of the beautiful weather ahead by riding, walking, or scootering to school. It’s a fantastic way to kickstart your day with fresh air, fun, and fitness. Plus, it’s great for the planet and a wonderful way to connect with friends and neighbours!
Why not rally your crew, form a walking or riding group, and turn your Fridays into a celebration of community and sustainability?
Let’s roll into the weekend feeling energised and inspired!
See you out there!
Canteen
We’re now looking for a few extra volunteers to help us finish the year strong:
🥪 Canteen Volunteers – Thursdays or Fridays, 12.00–2.00pm
Without volunteer support, we may struggle to run Breakfast Club on some days, so any help is greatly appreciated!
If you’re interested, please let me know.
All volunteers will need a valid Working with Children Check (Volunteer) – it’s free and easy to apply for. You’ll also need to complete a quick OHS induction at the office.
We’d love to see a few new faces join the team soon!
Carpark Safety
We would like to address some important safety concerns regarding carpark use, and we kindly ask for your cooperation.
Kindergarten Carpark
We have been made aware that some families are using the kindergarten carpark who are not attending the kindergarten. This carpark is reserved exclusively for kindergarten families. If you have both kindergarten and school-aged children and need to park there, please ensure you use the ramp to access the school grounds.
The increased traffic in this area is making it difficult for kindergarten families to find parking and is also creating a safety risk due to the higher volume of foot traffic. Please also note that the gate between the kindergarten and school is now locked — children should not be lifted over the gate under any circumstances.
School Carpark
The school carpark has vehicles moving in and out throughout the day. For safety reasons, we ask that pedestrians do not use the stairs near the flag poles and then walk through the carpark as a shortcut. The designated ramp or steps are to be used when entering or exiting the school.
Thank you for your support in helping keep all members of our school and kindergarten community safe.
