Assistant Principals' Report

Hello everyone and welcome to our newsletter article,
Phase 2 building works- playground areas
Now that our Phase 2 building works are underway, we have reviewed our playground areas and considered all the year levels across the school, taken feedback from students and from staff. We will continue to review and change things where required. This includes our Year 4, 5 and 6 students heading offsite to the local parks.
In addition to the areas listed in the table below we have the Top School Garden open for passive play for Years 4-6 every day, also have the new passive area in front of the new positioned portables and SAC, where the Top Oval dust bowl used to be. See below the plan thus far for the remaining weeks of the school year.
Enrichment Clubs
Our Enrichment Clubs have been well attended every day, we have had up to 30-40 students in each session. This is not only a great way for students to take on a new challenge, learn something new, meet new friends but provides other spaces for the students during their break times. The department encourages schools to offer these opportunities to students as a way to build engagement and inclusion across the school.

The benefits for students and the whole school community, including:
- improved peer-to-peer and teacher-student relationships and wellbeing
- a sense of personal empowerment and student voice
- development of social and emotional skills
- improved academic achievement
- positive school climate and increased student sense of safety
reduction in bullying and playground behaviour incidents
A huge thank you to all our staff supporting our students in facilitating the clubs across the week. See Term 4 timetable below.
