Dear HPS Community, 

Students do not attend school on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th November. 

World Teachers' Day

Yesterday the theme of the day was ‘Hats off to Teachers’. It was fabulous to celebrate our amazing teachers at HPS with many students wearing a specially decorated hat to thank them for all their hard work and dedication to support our students achieve their best!

The messages in letters and cards that our teachers gratefully received were beautiful and heartfelt. We had families who generously provided treats of thanks for the staffroom, which were enjoyed by all.

Thank you to our SRC who provided activities for classes to complete and contribute to whole school collaborations. The photos below are just a snippet of the Garden of Thanks and Appreciation that sprung up in the staffroom.

We truely are lucky to have a school full of amazingly dedicated and committed teachers at HPS!

Building update

The new passive play area outside of the portables was opened up today and students enjoyed exploring the area and providing some ideas for how we can use the space.

From Wednesday next week, SAC will be operating from the SAC building around in that area. Access to and from SAC in mornings and afternoons will continue to be from Gate 3 on Darebin St, down the ramp to the COLA and around the new pathways to the SAC building. The gate from the swimming pool car park will not be used due to safety risks.

In coming weeks the classroom portable spaces will open for use.

It is getting close to the slab being poured on the new learning centre site along Darebin St, which is very exciting. This building will boast 4 new classrooms, student bathroom ammenities, office space and meeting room as well as a STEM centre.
