It has been a terrific start to Science this term! We commenced the term with a celebration of our learning from last term. Since then we have spent the last few weeks completing our science research projects on a living thing and presenting these projects to the class. The students are to be commended on their engagement in the research process, their presentation of information and their sharing of their learning to their class – well done students! Please feel free to check out these projects which will be on display next week in the school hallway, outside the classrooms. You will no doubt learn some interesting facts about a range of living things!

Students enjoying a short clip by David Attenborough celebrating Earth's amazing living things - a nice conclusion to our Biology unit!
This week and next we commence our Term 4 area of study – Chemistry. We question what is chemistry?, sharing our existing knowledge before delving into some explicit instruction and concept mapping. Across all year levels we will investigate chemistry in the everyday, materials and their different properties, changes to materials, both physical and chemical, and the purpose and effect of these changes. Students will apply the method of scientific inquiry through engaging in experiments where they will make predictions, record results and draw conclusions. Looking forward to exploring this topic with our curious students!
