Wii Gaay Learning Hub 2

The second Wii Gaay Learning Hub for 2023 will be in Tamworth from 13-17th November. More information will be communicated with schools in Week 10.

Wii Gaay Staff Zooms

In Week 10 on Tuesday 19th September at 12:45 pm, there will be a Zoom for all Wii Gaay staff to discuss Term 4’s Learning Hub. A calendar invitation and link will be shared this week via email.

Aboriginal Education Retreat 

2023 Aboriginal Education Retreat will be held in Tamworth with the Base for the retreat being the Botanical Gardens. 

The retreat is guaranteed to be an event not to be missed.

PULiiMA - National Aboriginal Language & Technology Conference Report  

12 Educators from the Armidale Diocese attended Australia's Launch of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, on Larrakia country at the PULiiMA 2023 - Indigenous Languages & Technology  Conference in Darwin. 

 

The conference included a livestream launch  of Australia's Action Plan - Voices of Country- a plan developed in partnership between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the Australian Government, whose focus is to allow languages to survive & thrive.

 

The highlight included watching past McCarthy Catholic College student - Mitch Tambo perform to over 900 delegates from across Australia and other International countries singing in the  Gamilaraay language.
