Allegra McGivern breaks NSW All Schools Meet Record
Year 12 Allegra McGivern competed at the NSW All Schools Track and Field Championships held over the school holiday break. Not only did Allegra win Gold in the Under 19 3000m Steeplechase, she broke the meet record by a stunning 58 seconds! Allegra then showed her versatility as a middle distance runner backing up to win a Silver medal in the Under 19 5000m. Allegra has continued to perform at the top level while combining her Athletics training with preparations for the upcoming International Baccalaureate exams.

NSWCIS Athletics Championships
The NSWCIS Athletics Championships saw our Junior School girls compete followed by the Senior School team. The relay team of Elizabeth Coulston, Alina Meers, Billie Quick and Araminta Dusseldorp came heartbreakingly close to progressing to State when they finished fourth by a mere 5 hundredths of a second. The girls improved at every level of competition and the team ran their fastest time at CIS. Their changes were perfect and Ms Sambell was extremely proud of their effort.
Alexia Coburn finished 4th in the Junior 1500m in a time that would have broken the meet record! She showed her grit and determination to make State by bouncing back to win Gold in the 800m.. Year 3 has a sprint star of the future with Isabella Jaboury storming home in the 8 years 100m to finish 5th! Alina Meers will join Alexia at the PSSA Championships after winning Gold in the Long Jump, a brave effort when she was carrying an injury. Aria Calabro performed well in the 11 years 1500m racing well in the heat to finish 8th overall.
Year 12 Allegra McGivern 18 years 1500m and Year 11 Kiana Finau 16 years High Jump won Gold and Bronze respectively in their events and were named in the NSWCIS Secondary Merit team.

National Rhythmic Gymnastics Medallist - Anna van Gelder
Year 10 Anna van Gelder competed at the Australian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships on the Gold Coast. Despite her competition hoop not arriving off the plane, Anna won Gold in the event. She went on to win a second Gold in the Ribbon, 6th Clubs and 7th Ball. Anna was competing in the Level 9 competition and won Bronze overall.
Touch Clean Sweep
Thirteen Kambala teams returned to the Eastern Suburbs Touch competition and Kambala had 11 wins, a draw and a bye. A great start to the season by our girls.
Badminton
Badminton is the newest IGSA sport to be introduced. Kambala has 14 players and the numbers are growing. Kambala is forming a partnership with Badminton Worx to assist with preparation and coaching of the Kambala teams.
